When I’m not working with other people to help them to tap into their own personal style and other creative impulses, I love to work on my own projects. These creative projects are coming soon, in progress or ones I’ve finished.
I often get clients to start by looking at themselves as design, then to take what they learn about themselves into making other things. If you’d like to do be supported to do this kind of inner and outer work with me, book a conversation or email me and and let’s see what we can do together.
You don’t need permission to start your own projects, learn a new skill, start writing or interviewing people … Make things. Have ideas.
held.over – show planned for July 2020 but was COVID-ed
My show, held. over. is an exploration of loss and the unreliability of the senses. The body remembers, but are the memories of our senses accurate or reliable? When used too many times – senses, memories – things degrade. What happens in the spaces left by degradation or loss?
Exhibition of paintings, text and conversation.
Flirting – creative research project
Flirting is a method of communication that fascinates me. I’m doing an ongoing project to talk to people about flirting, what it means, how they do it, whether there are rules to it …
You can read more about the Flirting project here.
Lost Rocks editing
I’ve been editing manuscripts for the Lost Rocks project since 2017. I love seeing all the ways different writers ‘recompose’ their rocks into text and sometimes images. It’s such a buzz to work on this with prolific artists Justy Phillips and Margaret Woodward.
My background as a geologist and editor made me doubly interested in this project.
Lost Rocks is an ambitious, slow-publishing artwork – a library of forty books, four books published twice yearly for the next five years.
I offer workshops teaching people what I call sketch-noting – combining words and simple images to record their thoughts.
These are some of my sketch-noting pages from a holiday I took in 2018.
I wrote a book – Shooting From The Lip
